Heart Center of the Rockies expands cardiac electrophysiology division
Colorado Health Medical Group's Heart Center of the Rockies welcomed Dr. Russell Heath this week, expanding its coverage in cardiac electrophysiology services.
With expertise in advanced care and management of irregular heartbeats (arrhythmia), the Heart Center of the Rockies electrophysiology program is the largest in northern Colorado, completing more pacemaker implantations than any other hospital in the area*.
"We're very fortunate to have Dr. Heath on board," said Dr. Timothy Johnson, Heart Center of the Rockies electrophysiologist. "Our program has grown dramatically over the past few years," he said, referencing the addition of Dr. Robert Kiser in 2011 and the expansion of services into Greeley and Cheyenne.
The Heart Center of the Rockies team provides electrophysiology services to Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins and Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. The program features an advanced electrophysiology lab, three electrophysiologists (cardiologists with advanced training in the electrical issues of the heart) and a large team of cardiac professionals to support them.
Dr. Heath received his medical degree at the University of Texas and completed his residency and fellowship in electrophysiology and general cardiology at the University of Colorado.
Colorado Health Medical Group, formerly Poudre Valley Medical Group, is a multi-specialty medical group with approximately 210 providers delivering quality health care, wellness services and health products within 24 medical specialties in communities throughout Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska.
