Trauma surgeon joins Colorado Health Medical Group

Dr. Michael H. Metzler has joined Colorado Health Medical Group and will begin seeing patients Oct. 2.

Dr. Metzler specializes in trauma surgery as well as acute and elective surgery and will see patients in CHMG’s General Surgery and Acute Care Services office on the Medical Center of the Rockies campus in Loveland.

“I’m excited to join a collaborative, high-skilled team that's committed to providing unmatched, quality care for patients in northern Colorado,” he said.

Dr. Metzler joins a team of 12 surgeons at CHMG General Surgery and Acute Care Services.

Dr. Metzler received his medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed his residency at Duke University School of Medicine and University of Missouri Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery Inc. and in Surgical Critical Care.

Dr. Metzler comes to CHMG from Las Vegas, where he was the director of trauma at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Metzler also spent 27 years at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he was the chief of the division of general surgery and surgical critical care, the director of trauma, and a John Growdon associate professor of surgery and anesthesia.
