Poudre Valley Health System announced today that Grace Taylor has been named chief strategy officer.
Taylor will oversee the strategic development of the health system's services in northern Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. She will also guide public and employee communication, and oversee business development.
"With her valuable knowledge and background, Grace will be a leader who will help us continue to be the region's top healthcare provider," said Rulon Stacey, PVHS president and CEO. "Considering that healthcare reform has made the medical industry more complex nationwide, the role that Grace will play in helping shape the future of PVHS will be significant."
Taylor joined PVHS in July 2007 and was appointed director of business development and outreach services in October 2009. In that role, she was involved in the development and implementation of new business initiatives and strategies.
"Planning is vital for any organization, but particularly so for health care when major changes in the industry are on the horizon due to healthcare reform," Taylor said. "PVHS is a highly respected healthcare provider throughout the region and we expect to continue to enhance our services by working closely with physicians, with our communities, and with other healthcare organizations."
The chief strategy officer job is a new position within PVHS. It encompasses services-strategy, marketing, outreach, and business development-previously performed by the vice president of marketing and strategic planning, a position that became vacant in late 2010 and no longer exists.
Taylor holds a master's degree in business with a focus in healthcare administration from the University of Colorado, Denver, and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Colorado Association of Healthcare Executives, among other professional organizations.
