Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland will host the 9Health Fair, Colorado’s largest volunteer-run, nonprofit health fair program, on Saturday, April 2, from 7 a.m. to noon.
The 9Health Fair at MCR will include dozens of free or low-cost health screenings which address today’s most critical health issues: heart disease, diabetes, colon cancer, cervical cancer, mental health, nutrition and more. Screenings are available for anyone who is at least 18 years old. No social security number or personal identification is required to participate.
Poudre Valley Health System, which includes Medical Center of the Rockies, is a statewide sponsor of the 9Health Fair.
"The 9Health Fair is an important benefit for Coloradans," said George Hayes, president and CEO of Medical Center of the Rockies. "The event promotes good health awareness and gives people in our community the tools to take control of their health. Those are actions that Medical Center of the Rockies and Poudre Valley Health System strongly support."
All 9Health Fair locations include a $30 blood chemistry screening which provides information about blood sugar (glucose) levels, cholesterol, triglycerides, liver, kidney, bone and muscle function. It may also show warning signs of diabetes, heart disease and other concerns.
Other low-cost screenings include:
- $25 Prostatic Specific Antigen (PSA) screening for men, which checks for prostate gland issues and cancer.
- $15 blood count screening, which checks the health of your blood.
- $20 colon cancer screening take-home kit, which checks for colon cancer.
- $40 Vitamin D screening.
Free screenings offered at the 9Health Fair at Medical Center of the Rockies include: blood pressure; Pap smears; breast exams; osteoporosis; oral; finger-stick glucose; hearing; and foot. Participants can also talk with on-site healthcare professionals and pharmacists.

“With jobs and healthcare weighing heavily on most people’s minds today, it has never been more important for people to really start understanding and owning their health,” said Jim Goddard, president and CEO of 9Health Fair. “Because our community-driven program is a safe, friendly and affordable way for people to learn more about their health, this year, we want people who regularly participate in 9Health Fair to bring their loved ones so that they can start taking action to live a long, high quality life.”
In addition to free and low-cost health screenings, 9Health Fair also offers:
- Blood work, Pap smear and colon cancer screening results, with information on how to read your results, mailed directly to your home for you to share with your doctor. Results delivered within four weeks of your 9Health Fair visit.
- Calls from volunteer doctors and nurses within 72 hours of your 9Health Fair to people if a critical health issue is discovered.
- Free interpretation and translation services.
- Free “Ask a Medical Question / Get a Referral” services.
- No social security number or personal identification required.
To ensure proper hydration and a smooth blood draw experience, participants who plan to get their blood drawn should drink plenty of water the night before and the morning of the health fair.
