Seven physicians join Poudre Valley Health System

A record number of new physicians joined the Poudre Valley Health System this week and are now welcoming new patients.

With specialties ranging from neurology to urgent care, the seven physicians to join the system this week represent Poudre Valley Medical Group's commitment to offering the most comprehensive medical care in northern Colorado.

  • Dr. Scott Strader joined the Fort Collins office of Neurology Associates of Northern Colorado, Prospect Medical Plaza, 1106 E. Prospect Road, Suite 100. Dr. Strader received his medical degree, was a resident and completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at the University of Iowa. He has special interests in neuro-rehabilitation, movement disorders, neuropathy, stroke and other general neurological conditions.
  • Dr. Lars Widdel joined Poudre Valley Medical Group Brain and Spine Surgery at Medical Clinic at Centerra North Medical Office Building on the Medical Center of the Rockies campus, 2500 Rocky Mountain Avenue, Loveland. Dr. Widdel attended medical school in Santiago, Chile, and completed his residency in neurosurgery at the University of Colorado, where he received an award for being the most outstanding neurosurgery resident. His neurosurgical interests include neuro-oncology (brain, spine and peripheral nerve tumors), complex spine surgery and neuro-trauma. Dr. Widdel speaks English, German and Spanish.
  • Dr. Julie Dunn joined Surgical Specialists of the Rockies, 2315 E. Harmony Road, Suite 130, Fort Collins. She received her medical degree, was a resident and completed a fellowship in surgical research from James H. Quillen College of Medicine in Tennessee. Her special interests include trauma and surgical critical care. In addition to her duties as a general surgeon with Surgical Specialists of the Rockies, Dr. Dunn will conduct trauma research and serve as the medical director of PVHS research and education for the trauma/acute care surgical services.
  • Dr. Deric McIntosh joined Foxtrail Family Medicine, 1625 Foxtrail Drive, Loveland. He received his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania and completed his residency at Fort Collins Family Medicine. He has a strong interest in general family medicine, obstetrics, sports medicine and osteopathic manipulation.
  • Dr. Sharon Montes joined Loveland Urgent Care, 3850 N. Grant Ave., Suite 100. She has relocated to northern Colorado from Maryland where she practiced as an urgent care physician. She received her medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed her residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.
  • Dr. Emily Anderson joined Windsor Medical Clinic, 1455 Main St., Suite 100. She is a graduate of Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Neb., and completed her residency in Greeley at North Colorado Family Medicine. She is a Colorado native and has special interests in general family medicine, pediatrics, women's health and preventive medicine.
  • Dr. Tracey Stefanon joined Occupational Health Services, 4674 Snow Mesa Drive, Suite 200, Fort Collins. She received her medical degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at University of Colorado Health Science Center.

These physicians are among the nine physicians to join Poudre Valley Medical Group in August. Earlier this month, Dr. Megan Haldy, a physician who recently completed her residency at Fort Collins Family Medicine Center, joined Family Health Care of the Rockies, 3000 College Ave., Suite 210, Fort Collins. In addition, Dr. Jennifer Reeve joined Poudre Valley Medical Group Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1136 E. Stuart St., Suite 2100, Fort Collins.
