Comprised of 60 communities, northern Colorado supports a population of over 537,000. Less than 75 miles from Denver International Airport, the area is convenient for those who love to travel. Its mountains, trails and lakes make it enticing for outdoor enthusiasts and its ever-growing cultural community makes it a haven for art lovers of all types. Northern Colorado is a great place to live, whether you're single or raising a family.

Climate

Residents of northern Colorado enjoy an average of 300 days of sunshine per year, low humidity, moderate winters, and a mild climate year-round. The area receives approximately 18 inches of rain and 55 inches of snow per year. The average high temperature during the summer months is 85 degrees. In the winter months, it is 42 degrees.

Northern Colorado has experienced tremendous growth in the last few years and with it, its medical community has grown as well.

Recreation

Northern Colorado is a prime area for the people who enjoy mountain biking, hiking, climbing, hunting, fishing, boating, camping, skiing, and snowboarding. The area is ideal for a wide-spectrum of recreation fans from the extreme sportsman to those looking for a casual family outing.

Education

Northern Colorado boasts eight K-12 public school districts and a quality selection of private schools rich with newly constructed facilities, award-winning academic programs and top testing scores both on the state and national levels in the areas of reading, writing, math, and science. Our schools offer excellent learning environments for youth lead by a quality educational staff driven to help students achieve at their optimum level.
Northern Colorado is the home to two four-year colleges (Colorado State University and University of Northern Colorado) and one state-supported community college, Front Range Community College.

Entertainment

Alive with cultural activity and rich with selection, the northern Colorado community offers a vast collection of universities, museums, sports activities, restaurants and theaters.
