Follow-Up

After treatment is completed, you will see your radiation oncologist for follow-up appointments. These visits allow your doctor to monitor your health status and make sure your recovery is proceeding normally. Your radiation oncologist may also order additional diagnostic tests for monitoring. Reports on your treatment may also be sent to the other doctors on your cancer care team.

As time goes by, the number of visits to your radiation oncologist will decrease. This is a positive part of survivorship as you hopefully need less surveillance over time after your cancer. No matter the time that passes after your treatment is completed, we are always here for you should you need to speak to someone about your treatment or have any concerns.
