"I put off a needed heart procedure because I was afraid. Finally, my cardiologist convinced me that it would help me get my life back. The heart team made me feel comfortable and at-ease. Today, the dizzy spells are gone and I have more energy to enjoy my grandchildren. I've even started my own business. I should have done this a long time ago."
Linda's advice to others
- Don't put off a needed heart procedure. Your quality of life is worth too much.
- Get screened for heart disease.
More about Linda
Linda Odum started having heart events in the mid-1980s. She went to Heart Center of the Rockies where it was noted that she was having "electrical problems" with her heart. Year after year, fear caused Linda to reject recommendations for a heart procedure. Doctors controlled her symptoms of accelerated heart beats, aches and dizziness as best they could through medication.
Finally, her cardiologist, Dr. Thomas Downs, and her daughter convinced her to have the procedure that she needed to repair the short circuits in her heart. The ablation was performed by Dr. Timothy Johnson.
