The Bariatric Center of the Rockies offers additional surgical services for those patients who require it, including:
Panniculectomy
Panniculectomy (the removal of excess skin) is not necessary for most patients, but there are some patients who have skin breakdown or yeast/bacterial infection problems due to their excess skin. The surgeons at Northern Colorado Surgical Associates can perform this surgery when necessary.
Our initial focus is on bariatric surgery and getting patients as healthy as possible. Once a patient has lost the majority of their weight, we can evaluate to see if this procedure is necessary.
Revisional Surgery
For those with a previously failed weight-loss surgery, such as the vertical-banded gastroplasty (stomach stapling), we offer revisional surgery. Patients must show that they are committed to making the necessary, life-long changes that come with gastric bypass or LAP-BAND® surgery.
We routinely convert, often laparoscopically, old vertical-banded gastroplasties to the updated gastric bypass. We're one of the only programs in the state of Colorado and much of the western region to perfom this procedure.
