Gastrointestinal (GI) procedures at Poudre Valley Hospital and Medical Center of the Rockies
Common diagnostic and therapeutic procedures gastrointestinal (GI) procedures include:
- Gastroscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Sigmoidoscopy
- ERCP (an exam to identify bile and pancreatic duct disorders).
The center also provides assistance with other procedures such as:
- Esophageal motility
- Bronchoscopy
- Paracentesis
- Thoracentesis
- Liver Biopsy
- Hydrogen breath testing and volume flow studies
Special procedures
Both units provide treatment and diagnosis through choledochoscopy, which uses a special instrument called a spyglass to look inside the bile ducts.
PVH provides an ablation treatment for Barrett's esophagus, which is a potentially pre-cancerous condition of the esophagus.
