Nursing Procedure and Protocol
Chair: Rena Madison, RN
Purpose: To ensure that existing procedures and protocols are current, based on evidence based practice. To initiate new procedures and/or protocols as needed and to ensure that all patients at Poudre Valley Hospital receive a consistent standard of care.
Evidence-Based Practice
Chair: Kathi Patterson, CNP
Purpose: To generate recommendation for practice based on systematic review of clinical evidence and research, to improve quality of care and patient outcomes.
Clinical Education
Chair: Cyrena Malzahn, ENS
Purpose: To coordinate clinical education throughout Poudre Valley Hospital that supports innovative, high quality, comprehensive care. In addition, the committee will collaborate with Medical Center of the Rockies to meet the clinical educational goals of Poudre Valley Health System.
Nursing Quality
Chair: Sharon Finch, RN
Purpose: To monitor and evaluate nursing quality activities, to identify actual or potential concerns and recommend solutions. and/or follow-up.
Clinical Nurse Leadership
Chair: Rita Olsgard, RN
Purpose: To create a forum to support nursing leadership development through education, activities, and the sharing of information.
Retention & Recruitment
Chair: Todd Grivetti, RN
Purpose: To foster and promote the recruitment of and retention of nurses within Poudre Valley Hospital.
Client and Family Education
Chair: Linda Scarpato-Place, RN
Purpose: To create, develop, and implement a consistent process by which client and family education is delivered within the organization.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
Chair: Karen Moore, CNP
Purpose: To promote world-class nursing care by serving as resources and change agents to positively impact patient outcomes by utilizing: evidence-based practice, education, consultation, research, quality improvement process, and collegial interdisciplinary relationships.
Nurse Practice Council
Chair: Michelle Walker, ENS
Purpose: To lead, coordinate, and communicate the nursing activities of Poudre Valley Hospital.
