Blood-pressure clinics / "The Nurse-Is-In"
Drop in blood pressure checks are available the following times and locations (excluding holidays):
- The 2nd Monday of every month, 9-11a.m. Fort Collins Aspen Club office.
- The 3rd Monday of every month, 9:30-11:30 a.m., Windsor Recreation Center.
- The 4th Monday of every month, 9:30-11:30 a.m., Chilson Senior Center in Loveland.
The "Nurse-Is-In" is also an opportunity to ask questions about basic health-related concerns and medications, get tips on healthy lifestyles and find community resources.
Low Cost Blood Tests
Available at any of the four UCHealth lab locations: PVH, Express Lab, Harmony Lab and MCR.
No appointments are necessary. You must present your membership card at time of service.
Blood Chemistry Test - $29. Fasting required 12-14 hours. Lipid Panel - $22 Thyroid Blood Test (TSH) - $29 Prostate Specific Antigen Test (PSA) - $29 Blood Type - $19.50 Glucose - $7 Occult Blood - Colorectal Cancer Screening - $5 Hemoglobin A1C - $20 Urine Analysis - $16 Vitamin D - $55 Hemoccult test kits are available at the Aspen Club offices.
Bone Density Screening
Bone density is measured in the heel using a special ultrasound test. Information is useful for identifying the risk of developing osteoporosis. There is a $12 fee.
Flu and Pneumonia Shots
Immunization clinics scheduled every fall.
Healthy Heart Screening
PVHS and the Heart Center of the Rockies provide a cardiovascular screening and stroke risk assessment that includes a blood pressure check, cholesterol screening and healthy lifestyle counseling. Suggested donation - $15.
Hearing Screenings
Certified audiologists check for hearing loss and are available to answer questions about hearing aids. Offered quarterly in Loveland and Fort Collins.
Lung Function Tests
The MCR and PVH Respiratory Care Departments offer the pulmonary function test, measuring airflow in and out of your lungs. Offered in the fall for $5.
Medication and Supplement Review
Meet with a knowledgeable pharmacist to review your medications for duplications, safety and possible adverse reactions.
Skin Cancer Screening
Each spring, local dermatologists provide this free screening as a community service. The purpose is to detect any unusual skin conditions, marks, moles, discoloration, and other skin abnormalities. Watch your newsletter for the date and registration information.
Vision/Glaucoma Screenings
Tests your vision for distance and the pressure in your eye for glaucoma.
64-Slice CT Cardiac Calcium Score Exam
This non-invasive test allows doctors to look inside your arteries to detect any calcium buildup that may indicate heart disease. The Imaging Center gives members a $50 discount (regular price is $275)
