Sun Safety

Reapply SPF 30+ sunscreen at least every two hours, especially when your kids are swimming or sweating.

Summertime means that it's time for sunscreen. There's a lot of conflicting information out there about sunscreen and what the safest products are for children. At Peakview Pediatrics, we like to keep it simple:

  • Use hats, sunglasses and SPF clothing. Swim shirts help prevent sunburns on shoulders and necks.
  • Use a broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30+.
  • Use hypoallergenic sunscreen.
  • Reapply at least every two hours, especially when your kids are swimming or sweating.

Be sure to visit the American Academy of Pediatrics' page for more detailed information about sunscreen safety.

If you have additional questions, contact us at 970.392.4752 to get information from one of our board-certified pediatricians in Greeley.
